Preparedness Basics - Step by Step
Wouldn't it be great to have a crystal ball or a psychic ability that allowed us to see the future? It sure would make preparing a whole lot easier if we already knew what was going to happen. But, unfortunately, we don't have that knowledge and that by itself creates anxiety for many. "How can we prepare if we don't know what we are preparing for??"
Well, its actually easier than you think...the key is to prepare based on what you and your family require to survive rather than what external and uncontrolled factors put that survival in jeopardy. There are fundamental things that you will always need, regardless of the circumstances you face. For example, if there is an economic crisis, you will need to eat. If there is a pandemic, you will need to eat. And if there is a terrorist attack that takes out the power grid, you will still need to eat. While there are some measures you can take specific to each scenario, the core of your preparations will not only be the same in any instance, but will be the most critical!
Now just what are those essential preparations...let's see, we need to eat. We also need clean water. And, of course, we need shelter. And then there's the issue of defense. And money. And medicine. And transporation to get to other family members. And what if the power is out? What if transportation has broken down and deliveries aren't being made to grocery stores. What if the air is contaminated with chemicals or a virus? And what if...?
I could go on but you're probably already knotted up and overwhelmed by all that needs to be considered. You are not alone. Many, many people are fully aware of the importance of being ready for what may come and yet they have done little or nothing to prepare themselves and their families. Why? Because it seems daunting and overwhelming. Like having to eat an entire elephant!
But how do we eat an elephant? Let's say it together..."One Bite at a Time"!
Living and being prepared is simple and stress-free when it is broken down into managable pieces. That's why we developed the 12-step Prep system. We have broken your essential preparations down into twelve categories or steps that make them easy to address one at a time.
